Budget Humbug

Congratulations to the winners of ListPlanIt‘s Print Membership (Bev, Lisa P., Stacey K.) and to the winners of the 100 Days to Christmas 2011 eBook (Marcia, Natalie, Suzy, Jennifer A, Kimberly). Look for an email with the details of your prize.

97 daysWith wish list(s) in hand (or at least in progress), it is time to face the facts and create your Christmas budget. The holidays are about loved ones and about GIVING, right? However, if you do not create a budget to guide your purchases over the next few months, the holidays will be about giving to your credit card company for the next year!

Countdown to ChristmasThe Countdown to Christmas Challenge for today is to prepare a budget to place in your handy holiday planner for quick reference throughout the holiday season. List your expenses to have an accurate record of all that is involved with the joyous, but often rather expensive, holiday. Refer to it often to keep you on track. Next year, when it is time to create another Christmas budget, you can look back on this budget as a guide for future spending.

Some categories to include in your Christmas budget are: Gifts, Decorations, Food/Drink, Holiday Entertainment, and Charitable Giving. *

* Available as a download in the 100 Days to Christmas 2011 eBook.  Members to ListPlanIt.com can print or download Holiday Budget Planner in Holidays & Occasions as a worksheet for your Christmas budget.

Although I would LOVE a Kindle, I know my son would love it even more! He is 12 and an avid reader. Being that we live in a small house it would save much needed space : ) Thanks for the chance to win!

I’m not sure I would buy myself a kindle, but I do think that it would be great to have a number of books in one place for travel… pick me, pick me :)

I love the feel of a real book, but I’d use a Kindle for long road trips when space is limited.

  • Debbie

I would love a Kindle to give to my teenage daughter for Christmas. It would start her out on the right track in terms of not dealing with accumulating book clutter. And it would really help with my Christmas budget, too!! Thanks for the giveaways!

  • Melanie Sposa

I commute into NYC as well as drop my preschooler off to school. I read books DAILY – we’re talking nothing less than 300 pages and the lighter weight would be so handy while I carry my work items, purse, child’s school things. Plus, trying to go greener and minimal in the long run!
Oh, how the extra room would allow for more hands and energy on my walk home for Christmas shopping!

    Thanks for the consideration!

  • Connie

I would love a Kindle—it is on my Christmas List! I am always lugging heavy books around and I have neck and shoulder problems, so that is not a good idea.
I also need the 100 days to Xmas Book! I am overwhelmed with the Holidays!
    Love the site.

With a newborn I rarely have time to go to the library nowdays. A kindle would totally help out with the time I’m able to devote to reading!

I’ve got a newborn, and his feeding time would be a great time to read. A kindle would make it so much easier!

  • Pam

I would enjoy a Kindle as my 6 1/2 yr old daughter is an avid reader. It is hard to keep her with enough books and the house is getting full.

    Blogged about it @ http://www.livelaughrowe.com

I would like a Kindle because I am trying very hard to purge the house and books are one of my hardest things to get rid of! So knowing I could still have access to books (and honestly, quicker than I could physically lay hands on them) without needing to store and dust them would be awesome!
