Budget Humbug

Congratulations to the winners of ListPlanIt‘s Print Membership (Bev, Lisa P., Stacey K.) and to the winners of the 100 Days to Christmas 2011 eBook (Marcia, Natalie, Suzy, Jennifer A, Kimberly). Look for an email with the details of your prize.

97 daysWith wish list(s) in hand (or at least in progress), it is time to face the facts and create your Christmas budget. The holidays are about loved ones and about GIVING, right? However, if you do not create a budget to guide your purchases over the next few months, the holidays will be about giving to your credit card company for the next year!

Countdown to ChristmasThe Countdown to Christmas Challenge for today is to prepare a budget to place in your handy holiday planner for quick reference throughout the holiday season. List your expenses to have an accurate record of all that is involved with the joyous, but often rather expensive, holiday. Refer to it often to keep you on track. Next year, when it is time to create another Christmas budget, you can look back on this budget as a guide for future spending.

Some categories to include in your Christmas budget are: Gifts, Decorations, Food/Drink, Holiday Entertainment, and Charitable Giving. *

* Available as a download in the 100 Days to Christmas 2011 eBook.  Members to ListPlanIt.com can print or download Holiday Budget Planner in Holidays & Occasions as a worksheet for your Christmas budget.

I would love a Kindle so I could read 100 Days to Christmas on something bigger than my iPhone screen, and also because I travel alot back and forth to help take care of my grandparents. It would be great to not have to lug a separate book bag. I love to read!

Ugh… the budget. Don’t really want to think about it, but it is necessary. Especially since I have surgery (repair of rotator cuff) on 9/21 and my oldest child has surgery (removal of ingrown toenail and infection site) on 9/28. My oldest wants a Kindle for Christmas. His school will actually give/loan them their textbooks on the Kindle – our district is plagued with budget issues and in some classes the kids need to share text books.

  • Denise

I’d love, love, love to win a Kindle. The last year or so I’ve been taking my elderly mother and also my fil to loads of dr. appts. and spent many hours in ER waiting rooms. I have been reading tons of books on my iPod Touch. I’m sure reading on a Kindle would be a much better experience and easier on the eyes. It is so nice to be able to read a book anyplace, anytime! Love your 100 Days to CHRISTmas site and already subscribe to the daily emails. Thanks for all your hard work.

I’d love to win a Kindle and give it to my daughter, she’s been reading like crazy this summer ever since I got my ipad, but she didn’t read many books before that! She likes not having to turn pages and having to sometimes hold the book with two hands. The Ipad and Kindle are great for reading.

I would love a kindle! My daughter has one and I love that it’s smaller than a novel and yet can carry more books than a person can hold. And to be able to take to the beach this Christmas and read outside……how AWSOME would that be?

  • http://housepayne@blogspot.com Lisa P.

Winning the Kindle would be a huge budget helper! I’ve been wanting an e-reader so I can get magazine subscriptions there instead of having piles clutter up my home.
