Christmas Day Preparation

18Whether you are having guests for Christmas celebrations or having a more intimate celebration with your own family, you likely have activities that need quite a bit of forethought and planning.

The Countdown to Christmas Challenge for today is to begin to plan out the final days before Christm100countdownas. By setting goals and deadlines for yourself, you’ll have a better idea of what needs to be accomplished and when each task should be scheduled in the next 2 1/2 weeks. Consider final gift buying/wrapping, travel preparations, cleaning, meal preparations, parties and events.

Help yourself to ListPlanIt‘s Christmas Preparation page that lets you plan out the final weeks and days to Christmas.

This week’s drawing is for 3 lucky winners to win 1 of 3 of ListPlanIt’s ePlanners:  Personal ePlanner (perfect for personal goal-setting in the New Year), Planner ePlanner (lots of time management pages to get yourself organized), and Home ePlanner (for motivation to get those home projects done this winter).  To enter for your chance to win. . .

  • We’ve pretty much got all of the planning and preparation done already, but it’s easy for us this year. My husband works 2-10pm Christmas eve and day. His supervisor approached him and said that there’s a chance they’ll have to change his Christmas day schedule to 6-2pm. We wouldn’t know until a few days before so there goes all of our planning right out the window. Rather than try to maneuver around it, we decided to keep our schedule clear so that we can just enjoy the holiday without stress. Our family isn’t going to like it, but they’re all going to have to build a bridge and get over it. Ha!

Nikki….. I hear ya – Hubs was with the Chicago Police Department for 23 years until he retired, he worked 5 pm to 2 am and most holidays. You learn to adapt that’s for sure.

I have company coming in on Friday for the weekend and the LIstPlanIt is just in time. I have to make a list and mark stuff off to keep myself on track.

Oh my I still have a lot to do. I got waylaid by various last minute things that have cropped up. I got recruited to bake for a bake sale and for a dinner at church. Our only vehicle broke down Sunday after Thanksgiving and is still in the shop. We have no idea what that is going to cost and now the water heater is going out. That is going to run about 500 dollars to fix. This is our first Christmas without my mom so I knew it would be challenging. I just didn’t know it was going to be this challenging.

  • I’d love to win–when it comes to getting organized, I need all the help I can get!

Just set dates in my planner for the rest of my Christmas prep. I love having all these lists to stay on track with everything. I actually feel less crazed this year.

  • This is always the part I struggle with – organizing the little things I have left to do. I tend to think that because the big stuff is done, I’m good to go. Until I start scrambling on the 20th!

  • Is it just me or are the days just flying by? No matter how organized I feel the time is just flying! Kinda sad.
