For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, today is the first day of fall (or autumn, if you prefer)! This is the season that takes us right up to the doorstep of Christmas.
Today’s Countdown to Christmas Challenge will not involve your Christm
as planner. Go down into your basement or up into your attic and rustle up your fall decor – anything pumpkin, harvest, or apple-themed is fair game – to be festively placed around your home.
If it seems your seasonal decor is all mixed together, today would be a great day to locate some large boxes or tubs and label them with Fall labels. Simply print out the labels and then use tape on the boxes, or print the labels onto adhesive-backed paper for great convenience.
Check out what List Mama says. . .about preparing your home for fall.

Whoohooey – for once I am AHEAD of the game. I decorate for Fall beginning Labor Day weekend. At that time the back to school items are out for the week. Then fall. On 1 October I will convert to Halloween decor. Back to fall and adding Thanksgiving specific on 1 November. I LOVE that I can decorate with all of the things I love about this season for such a long period. Definitely my FAVORITE time of year!
Love this time of year! Thank you for your 100 Days Countdown…great! I love those candles too!
I just discovered your blog – what a great idea! Before you know it the big season will be upon us and your blog is going to help us all get through it.
Heading up to the attic to get out some fall decor this morning – autumn is my favorite time of year – would love to add the candle to the vignette on the hall table.
hi! I’m a new subscriber via RSS. I discovered your blog a couple of days ago and I can’t wait to see what you’ve got in store for us!
I love Fall! This was just what I needed to get me in gear to pull out my Fall decorations. I’ve added it to my to-do list for this afternoon!
Great ideas! I love fall candles!
I just love fall! We are hopefully going apple picking today! To me, it’s just not the start of fall until we do that! I’ll be in the attic this morning looking for fall leaves and pumpkins! Great suggestion! And that candle would be a nice addition!
Fall is my favorite time of the year. I love everything about fall.

Love these candles. Love fall more!
I get more cleaning done in the fall than the spring. I light a candle that smells the house of apple pie or pumpkin and that turns on my cleaning mojo. Unfortunately it also makes me want to redecorate the house….LOL.
I’m so proud of myself for keeping up thus far. Woohoo!! And I’m thrilled about today’s activity. I’ve been ready to do this for weeks and have been holding off.
I love how this Christmas prep includes Fall holidays!

Fall is my favorite season. The temperatures, the smells, the colors… I love it all. I already have some fall decor out. Little pumpkins, fall leaves, apples, little scarecrows and acorns. I am even thinking about painting my kitchen fall inspired colors because I like the season so much. It’s such a warm and inviting season.
We looooooove candles!
