If you are fortunate enough this year to have some money in your bank account, bills paid, and food in your pantry, then give thanks this year and remember those who have not been as fortunate. Not only because “what goes around, comes around”, but because we are all human beings and in this together.
Today’s Countdown to Christmas Challenge is to seek out a local aid agency in your area. Choose from eithe
r the human or animal variety (or both). Check out their website or give them a call to find out what their wish list is for this year. Round up the children and make a trip to a discount store to purchase whatever you can afford. Every little bit helps. Then deliver the supplies as a family. Use this season as an opportunity to demonstrate the importance of giving of yourself. Everyone benefits.

What a wonderful post today! You can’t receive blessings if you don’t first give. I like what Suze Orman says “if your hand is closed you can’t receive” how true. Giving to others is just as much of a blessing to the giver as it is to the receiver. My Hubby from the age of 3 till he was in 6th grade lived at Hephzibah Home in Oak Park, IL. We are empty nesters and it just tickles me to get gifts for the kids associated with Hephzibah Home I feel like Santa.

This is a wonderful time to give and to teach children about giving. Thanks for today’s post! I love inspiration amidst the Christmas hustle and bustle!

This is a great post. My husband and I adopt-a-family each year at this time. Our kids are young but we hope they will learn about giving by continuing this tradition as they grow.
I am really impressed with the overall content of your blog. You obviously know what you are speaking about as you write with passion. I wish I had got your ability to write. I have bookmarked your web site and look forward to additional updates.
This year our family picked an angel off off the angel tree. The entire family went shopping for a 2 year old girl. It was so much fun.
