Maybe there is a Christmas performance that you always intend to see but never get around to buying the tickets in time. Maybe you’ve missed a fun local Christmas activity because you didn’t know of the dates. Most communities have found a way to contribute to the fun of the holidays by offering some kind of local Christmas experience.
Today’s Countdown to Christmas Challenge is to start watching your local
newspaper’s calendar and upcoming events section. Do a search online for Christmas events in your neighboring communities. Jot the ones of interest on the calendars in your Christmas planner. Be sure to make note of ticket prices, reservation requirements, dates, and times.

At Christmas, I like the audience participation concerts, like carol sings and Messiah sings, even though my church choir will perform a cantata and I sing in a local semi professional a capella choir which will perform several Christmas concerts.
I would like to find an affordable show that a 2yr old could enjoy in the New England area…any suggestions?

This is a great idea! I’m always on the lookout for free or cheap events.

I love the idea of thinking about this early…I always get to December and realize that it is too late to plan these into our schedule.

We are going to do the Nutcracker this year! Can’t wait! But I should really get on the ball with ordering tickets. Great reminder!
This is brilliant! I have missed Nutcracker every year since I started having kids because I never think of it in time to buy tickets. This post just gave me the push i needed to act Before tickets go on sale and get the reminder noted on my calendar.
I keep a list of the things we like to do each year in my planner so that I remember which events we want to do. I’m going to pull out my list and start searching!

I am so excited – 2 years ago we rode the Candy Cane Train in Bath, Maine. It was the best! The children still talk about it. Last year, we were unemployed at Christmastime so we could not ride. But I have just finished ordering our tickets for this year! I can’t wait!!
A holiday planner would be fabulous! I find myself rushing around the week before Christmas, which I hate and wish I was all done with my shopping.
