Holidays are a way to create fun opportunities and lasting memories for your family. Instead of leaving it to chance, take some time to develop a plan that makes the most of a special day.
The Countdown to Christmas Challenge for today is to think abo
ut a way to add a little Halloween spirit to each meal. For example, use a pumpkin cookie cutter on the toast at breakfast. Put orange food coloring in the milk at lunch. Serve spaghetti & eyeballs for dinner. Check out what activities are going on in your community. Ask around for the best/safest places to Trick-or-Treat

LOVE LL BEAN! We order from them each year!
We don’t go too crazy on Halloween, but we do visit my grandparent’s neighborhood to trick or treat. We also go to Trunk or Treat at my church every year, which is usually held the weekend before Halloween.

We have a tradition of hanging out in our neighbors driveway, having a little party, on Halloween. We aren’t opening our door to a stranger. Kids and parents don’t have to go up to strange doors to trick-or-treat. Our street is all out in one front yard with several bowls of candy. Sometimes the kids are confused that it is one house and they get to choose 5 treats instead of jut one! We all have a good time AND feel it is safer as a group out in the open.

We don’t celebrate Halloween, but we do have a church event that night, followed by a rollicking NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) kickoff party. I’m trying to plan food and stuff for that.
I really need to do this! I have planning pages in my binder, but they are blank!

Orange milk sounds fun. I tried to cut biscuits with a pumpkin cookie cutter the other day, but they kind of mutated when I baked them. Oh well.
