Put those apples you’ve picked or purchased lately to good use! Apples are delicious and nutritious, they make perfect portable snacks, and they are the major ingredient to some of my favorite desserts.
The Countdown to Christmas Challenge for today is to locate your fam
ily’s favorite apple crisp recipe, or use this delicious one. Even if you don’t get it made in time for your after-dinner dessert, apple crisp makes a delicious breakfast. To check that you have everything needed for an apple crisp, be sure you have the following: lots of apples, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and butter. Add what you don’t have to your shopping list and make a point to stop by the store today. Your family will thank you for such a delicious fall treat!
And the winner of the Harvest Yankee Candle is. . .

Congratulations, Julie! Look for your candle in the mail in about 1 week.

I just made apple crisp last night – our favourite fall treat!
I’ve got a bag of apples from our Farmers’ Market — I better get a crisp into the oven!
Oh yay! Thanks for the candle! I can’t wait to add it do the Fall decorations!
My favorite Apple crisp recipe is 4 sliced apples, 1/2 box dry yellow cake mix, sugar, cinnamon, brown sugar, drizzled with butter and baked until yummy. (Yes this is how a professional organizer measures. I’m so not “type A” in the kitchen!)

I made a version of this at my house. Every one loves it and my 8yr old daughter is keen to learn how to. Perhaps this will be the time for her to have a go. I have to say that I love the apple and sultana breakfast muffins I make. I am off to that now so we can take them away.

My favorite recipe for apples…besides the good old standy bys of apple pie and apple crips is the apple bundle recipe from pampered chef…here’s a link for it…

They are super easy and super yummy!
I made my apple crisp last night! I used the recipe from Betty Crocker. It was more like apple mush, thank god for ice cream!
